I Do My Thing ...

Frederick E. Perl

I do my thing, and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.

Fairy Tales ...

G.K. Chesterton

Fairy tales are more than true:
not because they tell us that dragons exist,
but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.

A Precious Human Life

Tenzin Gyatso

Everyday, think as you wake up,
'Today I am fortunate to have woken up,
I am alive,
I have a precious human life,
I am not going to waste it.

I am going to use all my energies
to develop myself,
to expand my heart out to others,
to achieve enlightenment
for the benefit of all beings.'

Such a Moment

Frederick Buechner

Laughing with somebody till the tears run down your cheeks. Waking up to the first snow. Being in bed with somebody you love. Whether you thank God for such a moment or thank your lucky stars, it is a moment that is trying to open up your whole life. If you turn your back on such a moment and hurry along to business as usual, it may lose you the ball game. If you throw your arms around such a moment and hug it like crazy, it may just save your soul.

Different Dances

Osho

We are all different expressions of one reality, different songs of one singer, different dances of one dancer, different paintings - but the painter is one.

God's Promises

Annie Johnson Flint

God hath not promised
Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways
All our lives through;
God hath not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.

But God hath promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labour,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.

Every Child

Hafiz

Every child has known God,
Not the God of names,
Not the God of don'ts,
Not the God who ever does Anything weird,
But the God who knows only four words.
And keeps repeating them, saying:
“Come Dance with Me , come dance.”
